ABSTRACT
Romanian rural landscape journalism is extremely poor, in fact almost nonexistent. But there are
exceptions. In the district of Bihor her name Foaia of Popesti (Sheet Popesti), a newspaper that
appears from April 2008 in the town Popesti. This town is located in the Depression-Bistra Popesti
in the area of Barcau Hills, on the headwaters of the river Bistra, hidrographique in the basin of
the valley of Bistra, a tributary to the left of Barcau, North Mountain Plopisului, in the west hills of
Derna. From the outset, it should be emphasized that the sheet Popesti appeared as newspaper of
the local subsidiary of the National Liberal Party in the context of the election year 2008, which
was very long and rough in this regard. The first issue appeared in early April 2008. Between April
and June 2008 she was week. Since July 2008, with the completion of the electoral process, the
sheet Popesti became a monthly newsletter of the Local Council of the Popesti. It is commendable
that the new administration, even if they are the party who started the journal, she assumes all
expenses for the appearance of this journal. The publication in the first two months of his aparition
a variable number of pages: 4 – the first number, and 12 – the tenth, the latter being published
about the local elections on 1 June 2008. Most issues are between 6-10 pages. Since July 2008, at
the time of its acquisition by the Local Council Popesti, the newspaper published every month,
consistently with 12-14 pages. The drafters of the sheet Popesti are intellectuals, engineers and
teachers of the school group of Popesti.
