ABSTRACT
The study of political/electoral campaigns represents a research segment within the domain
of political communication. This research domain has been founded on the observation political
conduct in decisive moments. Electoral campaign is a structural political game marked by conflict,
cooperation, and by mixed relations able to determine effects which are not overlooked by the
actors involved. This paper tries to argue that electoral/political campaign is influenced by all the
actors involved, according to their resources and interests. Actors willing to win the elections
involve themselves in a battle characterized by the citizens’ representation toward the past, the
present, and the future, toward their own and their reference group aspirations and towards their
aspirations as part of a nation. This is the reason due to which the political actors have to use
elements of communication in order to overlook the citizens’ representation toward the political
situation.
